I personally don’t subscribe to this article’s presumptions – being fair is not about being spineless, but being able to stand up for one’s conviction.

The article does not seem to be considering that !!

 

Unfortunately, being fair is perceived (IMHO) as being soft, accommodative, not very demanding, egalitarian and in many cases subjective.

Being rude is perceived (again IMHO) as demanding, deadline oriented, driven, pushy, objective, sometimes rule-bound too.

 

Fair managers too can be demanding and pushy, deadline-oriented and driven.

Rude managers could also be spineless cowards covering up by being so.

The jury is out – but nevertheless, thought should share this interesting article with you.

And the discussion beneath the article in the website is all the more interesting.
